Cologne, my home
I have been living in Cologne for a few years now and have found a home here. I am still exploring and keep discovering new places, especially in the Südstadt.
A lawyer? Yes, but a different kind: I combine legal expertise and in-depth tech knowledge with entrepreneurial experience. I am an entrepreneur, digitalisation expert, legal tech & AI specialist, lawyer, certified specialist in employment law as well as a TÜV-certified data protection officer and TÜV-certified AI compliance officer.
About me
Law is the foundation, legal tech the software for it, digital the technology behind it, business the viable model. Because I am at home in all four worlds, I spot legal tech and AI potential and turn it into reality.
I come from the digital industry and studied law alongside it. When legal tech emerged in Germany in 2014, I brought both worlds together and was part of the young scene from the outset. Since 2015 I have combined my work as a lawyer with building my own legal tech products.
My strength in legal tech lies in connecting both worlds: as a lawyer I understand the legal core of every application, as a programmer the technology behind it. That lets me see which services can be mapped digitally, and implement them so that they hold up legally and convince technically.
In 2018 I founded my first legal tech company as a spin-off from my law firm and led it as managing director. In 2023 a second followed in Cologne, backed by venture capital and again under my management. Both enable companies to implement the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) themselves using subscription software, most recently AI-based.
For me, artificial intelligence is the strongest lever in legal tech. I integrate AI into legal tech applications in a targeted way to optimise processes and noticeably increase efficiency.
Digitalisation succeeds when people support it. I get law firms excited about new ways of working and guide the change so that it takes hold in everyday practice and lasts.
I take responsibility for legal tech and AI within a law firm: from strategic direction and the choice of the right projects through to implementation with a team of lawyers and developers. Because I have filled both roles myself, I lead as an equal with everyone involved.
I have been a lawyer since 2015. At the firm I ran my own practice area without reporting duties and took full responsibility for my matters, including extensive litigation. That independence still shapes my advice today: clear in assessment and reliable in implementation.
As a certified specialist in employment law, I advise on individual employment law as well as collective employment law, combining both perspectives into workable solutions that are legally sound and function in practice.
My practice also covers insolvency employment law and employment law support for restructurings. In this context I negotiate independently with works councils and trade unions.
As a TÜV-certified data protection officer, I have supported around 450 companies in implementing the GDPR. I think in terms of solutions: I show how projects can be realised in a data protection compliant way, turning data protection into a building block that creates trust.
As a TÜV-certified AI compliance officer, I combine legal and technical expertise. I show how AI systems can be used in compliance with the law while realising their full potential.
As an entrepreneur, I know the questions that concern my clients from my own experience. That is why I advise entrepreneur to entrepreneur: plain in language and clear in my recommendation, always with a view to what moves the business forward.
I taught myself to programme while still at school, without any course or degree. I still write code myself today, now with AI support, and therefore assess technical questions from my own practice.
In 2001 I founded my own business and have since delivered numerous digital projects for clients. Ideas became digital concepts, and concepts became applications that companies use every day and that have noticeably simplified their processes.
Software convinces when people enjoy using it. Clear user guidance and appealing design are therefore part of every project for me, as is visibility in search engines. This website shows what that can look like.
I have been at home in the digital industry for more than 20 years. I have seen how technologies develop and which approaches prevail. I bring this instinct to every new venture, today above all in the use of AI.
I am a genuine techie: I understand technology not just in outline but down to the detail, and I implement it myself. That makes me a competent partner in conversation for developers on an equal footing and allows me to assess technical projects realistically and steer them with confidence.
Artificial intelligence is currently changing how software is created and what it can do. I use AI myself, in programming as well as in my own products, and develop strategies from this that enable companies to use the potential of AI in a targeted and effective way.
I have been an entrepreneur since 2001, when I founded my first company while still at school. Undergraduate studies in business administration further sharpened my commercial understanding. In 2018 and 2023 two legal tech start-ups followed, each of which I led as managing director.
I have built scalable SaaS business models: software on subscription, whose revenue grows with every customer while the effort does not. The result is predictable, recurring income.
For me, commercial thinking is part of every plan from the outset. As a managing director I am thoroughly familiar with the typical business management tasks of leadership and know how an idea becomes a commercially viable company.
As managing director I was responsible for my companies across the board, from strategic direction through to day-to-day operations. I know how the individual areas of a company interlock.
Today I look back on more than twenty years as an entrepreneur in the digital economy. This experience helps me to spot opportunities early and to lead projects to success with composure and foresight.
A strong network has grown through my companies. Just as important to me is how a team works together: with social skills and appreciation I create a harmonious team that enjoys working together and can rely on one another. That is what produces lasting success.
AI-generatedA pioneer since 2014
I have been an enthusiastic legal tech advocate since 2014, because this is where my two worlds come together. I can see which legal work can be standardised or automated with artificial intelligence, translate it into a digital product and guide the way through to the running application.
AI-generatedExperienced as a lawyer
Lawyer since 2015, certified specialist in employment law, TÜV-certified data protection officer and TÜV-certified AI compliance officer. For many years I was responsible for my own employment law department without reporting duties, conducted litigation through all instances and advised companies on insolvency employment law as well as data protection law.
AI-generatedFor over 20 years
For more than 20 years I have been at home in the digital industry, as a programmer, founder and the person responsible for numerous internet and digitalisation projects. I lead digitalisation and AI projects from the first idea to live operation: I translate requirements into viable solutions, set strategy and priorities and take responsibility for the result.
AI-generatedFounder and entrepreneur
As an experienced founder and managing director, I have built and led companies with scalable business models. I take responsibility for the commercial side of a company, from key figures and budgets to liquidity: I assess business models for profitability, scalability and capital requirements and recognise early whether an offering is commercially sound.
20+ years of experience
My personal “constitution”
Law explained clearly, thought through digitally and implemented efficiently. That is my standard!
I am an entrepreneur and a builder. That is why I understand what clients need not only in legal terms, but from one entrepreneur to another.
As a lawyer and a techie, I spot and evaluate new legal tech/AI product ideas and then translate the legal starting point into precisely targeted products on the technical level.
Software is not successful just because it is technically mature, but only once users understand it, can operate it and are enthusiastic about it. UX is therefore a central part of my projects.
AI opens up new products and revenue streams. Spotting them and implementing them boldly is entrepreneurial work that needs buy-in among the partners.
Short and simple, but indispensable: success happens in a team. Without people working well together, even the best idea comes to nothing.
What I bring
In many legal tech projects, lawyers and developers work alongside each other rather than with each other. One side thinks in sections of statute, the other in data models, and in between there is a gap where time, money and good ideas get lost. I close that gap, because I speak both languages and bring a strong entrepreneurial streak with me.
Open to new things
From the end of 2026, I am available for a new role: I am looking forward to working with new partners, from a strong position as a lawyer, to move a law firm or a company forward in a leadership role in legal tech and AI and to make it a pioneer in its own market. Here is what I bring to that:
Efficiency that pays off
Greater efficiency and optimised processes with legal tech and AI: internal workflows become faster, more reliable and cheaper. The time gained goes into the work that really matters.
New products for clients
Legal tech offerings that clients and customers use directly and that give them genuine, up-to-date value. At the same time, they open up new revenue streams and additional advisory opportunities.
Buy-in from the start
Successful digitalisation depends on acceptance and usability. I involve the team and the users early on and make sure that new tools are ones people are happy to use.
Sharing knowledge

Talks and workshops
Legal tech has been my passion for more than ten years. I enjoy exchanging ideas about it with others and occasionally speak on the topic at events for lawyers. Not in legalese, but clearly, vividly and in a way that anyone can follow.
The photo was taken at the Anwaltszukunftskongress, where, as an early mover, I had the chance to present my scalable SaaS business model for data protection a few years ago.

Book and specialist articles
The digitalisation of the legal market and digital legal business models are part of my daily work. Drawing on this practical experience, I regularly share my knowledge as an author.
The photo shows a book on the successful digitalisation of law firms. I wrote the best-practice chapter on law firm digitalisation, describing how I digitalised my own department at the firm I worked for at the time.

Naturally, the Cologne spirit has caught me too. For me it means relaxed people, laughter and a light-hearted attitude. You can feel it not only during carnival, but all year round.
Koalas have been my hobby since 2020, and by now I am probably a little koala encyclopaedia myself. Why not test how much you know about koalas?

BVB, given my Sauerland roots. Since living in Cologne, I also enjoy it „wenn et Trömmelche beim FC jeht“ or when I can soak up the football romance of Fortuna at the Südstadion.
Feel free to smile, but for me mini golf is time out, precision and good company all at once. Can you guess what my best round looked like?

Plenty of green, hills, nature and a small village: that is where I originally come from in the Sauerland. I still find peace there and always enjoy going back.
